For the first time in the history of power sweeping, Schwarze Industries' Mechani-Pneumatic® Powerhood makes available the best features of both mechanical broom sweepers and conventional air vacuum sweepers.

The Mechani-Pneumatic® Powerhood is an available option on the Schwarze A9000, A8000 and A7000 models. The central feature of the patent pending Powerhood is a windrowing mechanical broom which is positioned ahead of the blast orifice of the sweeping head. Because of its unique patent pending design, heavy debris is scrubbed from the pavement surface and, at the same time, augered toward the intake side of the sweeping head. This allows for better cleaning action of both heavy materials and the fines which are known to be trapped under caked debris.

The Powerhood System also allows for easy adjustment of the air blast, to compensate for the type of material to be swept. Moist or wet debris such as clay, sand, mud and leaves, are able to be swept more efficiently than has before been possible by an air sweeper. Heavy, packed down debris is scrubbed up by the broom, and at the same time, the fine material traditionally missed by broom sweepers is propelled to the hopper in the sweeper's blast stream.


Broom positioning is totally adjustable from inside the cab. The head has a simple spring-loaded counterbalance which is adjusted outside at the pickup head. Changing the broom requires no tools and takes less than ten minutes.
